This page shows some examples of trees which are, or are not, acceptable.  Please read  Architectural Standard Bulletin 001 on Landscaping for further detail:  ASB0001 – Landscaping

A minimum of one tree is required in the front yard of each home between the front face of the house and the sidewalk.

When planted, the tree must be a minimum of 6′ tall and grow to a minimum of 20′ tall when fully mature.

Tree species which are pre-approved and do not require submission of an ACC request form include:

  •  Live Oak (Quercus virginiana)
    Tree-Live Oak
  •  Lacey Oak (Quercus glaucoides)
    Tree -Lacey Oak
  • Chinkapin Oak (Quercus muehlenbergii)
    Tree-Chinkapin Oak

Here is some information on other tree species for consideration which require approval:

  • Golden Maple
  • Japanese Maple
  • Shantung Maple
  • Teddy Bear dwarf southern magnolia
  • Yaupon holly
  • Crepe Myrtle
  • Redbud Tree
  • Texas Mountain Laurel (Sophora Secundiflora)

Trees which are not acceptable include:

  • Weeping Willows
  • Trees with a mature height of more than 40′
  • Palm trees (only with ACC approval)
  • Bamboo

  • Question: Does every house in Coppell Greens require a tree in the front yard?
    Answer:  Yes.
  • Question: If the tree in my front yard dies or is blown down in a wind storm, how long do I have to replace it?
    Answer: A maximum of six months.
