A minimum of one tree is required in the front yard of each home between the front face of the house and the sidewalk.
When planted, the tree must be a minimum of 6′ tall and grow to a minimum of 20′ tall when fully mature.
Tree species which are pre-approved and do not require submission of an ACC request form include:
- Live Oak (Quercus virginiana)
- Lacey Oak (Quercus glaucoides)
- Chinkapin Oak (Quercus muehlenbergii)
Here is some information on other tree species for consideration which require approval:
- Golden Maple
- Japanese Maple
- Shantung Maple
- Teddy Bear dwarf southern magnolia
- Yaupon holly
- Crepe Myrtle
- Redbud Tree
- Texas Mountain Laurel (Sophora Secundiflora)

Trees which are not acceptable include:
- Weeping Willows
- Trees with a mature height of more than 40′
- Palm trees (only with ACC approval)
- Bamboo
